During my time at university, I initially pursued psychology out of personal interest and as a hobby. As I continued my journey, I found myself delving deeper into the realm of personal development. Over time, my desire to gain a comprehensive understanding of psychology grew stronger, driven by the need to enhance my understanding of both myself and others.
Initially, I attended in-person courses and seminars as part of my work training. However, I soon felt the need to delve deeper and update my knowledge. Instead of investing more time and resources in offline options, I made the decision to enrol in online courses that were accredited by the Society of Modern Applied Psychology. Subsequently, I became a member of Achology, which has revolutionized my learning experience.
Driven by my fascination with psychology and my passion for helping others achieve personal growth, I embarked on a journey of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through Achology. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to extensive training and practice in a diverse range of disciplines, including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Life Coaching, Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Counselling, and Skilled Helping. These studies have bestowed upon me a wealth of expertise, empowering me to launch my own coaching consultancy.
My journey of self-discovery has been truly enlightening. Along the way, I’ve gained valuable knowledge on unlocking human potential. NLP has shown me the immense power of effective communication, building rapport, and using both verbal and non-verbal cues to connect with clients. I’ve delved into studying different thinking systems and behavior patterns, uncovering how to reframe limiting beliefs. One of the most remarkable tools I’ve acquired through dedicated practice is the ability to anchor positive states that lead to transformative life changes.
The CBT modules equipped me to understand the impact of our thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes on our emotions and actions. I learned how to recognize automatic thoughts, utilising thought records, and replacing cognitive distortions with rational interpretations of situations and circumstances. Empowering clients to modify their thinking patterns can pave the way for positive transformations, enabling me to design tailored interventions that cater to their individual needs.
The mindfulness and hypnotherapy modules helped build awareness, empathy and understanding. Hypnotherapy has expanded my ability to facilitate paradigm changing shifts at the subconscious level. Through guided imagery, relaxation techniques, and hypnotic suggestions, I assist clients in accessing their innate resources and overcoming deeply ingrained patterns or phobias.
I found the life coaching course and the intensive practice sessions within Achology tied everything together. With extensive reading, role plays, demonstration videos and practice sessions for all models as well as skillsets, I honed the ability to listen deeply, ask useful questions, offer objective feedback and help people to achieve their personal or professional goals using my language skills.
Armed with my new coaching credentials, I worked on developing a unique niche, identifying my target clientele, designing bespoke service packages and building my brand identity. As someone drawn strongly towards helping working women facing the Imposter Syndrome, I decided to focus specifically on this segment to help them overcome challenges related to work-life balance, family issues, managing stress and finding greater harmony.
I invested time and effort in building visibility and overcoming my own limits – creating my page and actively engaging on social media, creating videos, participating in podcast interviews on women-centric platforms, giving free public workshops for women. Gradually, through content and conversations demonstrating my expertise around common concerns like guilt, establishing routines, and maintaining self-care, I have built credibility. This along with psychology-backed methods to improve thought patterns and cope with anxiety naturally draws clients, a lot of which come through word-of-mouth.
I have successfully launched my Coaching consultancy with a growing clientele of young women. By blending my expertise with bespoke coaching solutions tailored to individual client needs, I have been able to deliver demonstrable impact in improving quality of life, personal or professional growth and lasting transformation.
The privilege of being able to support clients from diverse backgrounds achieve goals, reduce stress, build confidence and fulfill their potential is incredibly rewarding. As I progress on this journey by constantly enhancing my own skills and expanding my toolkit, by remaining in practice at Achology, I hope to scale my consultancy and touch more lives in a meaningful manner.
None of this would have been possible without the Continuous Professional Development learning opportunities I leveraged through Achology which gave me the right knowledge and real-world practice to succeed as a Coach. I am excited about this new chapter where I can apply psychology principles to guide people towards personal and interpersonal well-being.
