Accreditation gains value from the competency it represents. These standards ensure accredited individuals have the skills and knowledge to excel. Our accreditation requires members to complete hundreds of hours of hands-on practice. Without these standards, accreditation would lose credibility, making it meaningless as a measure of expertise.
Credentials don’t always reflect insight. While qualifications can signal expertise, they don’t necessarily reflect the ability to deliver useful outcomes. Consider a clinical psychologist with an impressive degree but poor people skills, unable to translate their knowledge into practical guidance that helps clients build self-awareness or tackle real-world challenges.
SoMAP accreditation is achieved via a rigorous CPD process that pushes individuals to refine their expertise to the highest level. It requires 100’s of hours of self-directed study, allowing participants to deeply explore their chosen field and build a strong foundation of insight.
