In 2018, I realized that I needed a change in my life. A close friend of mine, who happens to be a life coach, played a crucial role in helping me break free from the monotonous cycle I was trapped in. Soon enough, my life took a positive turn. I gained absolute clarity on the things I no longer desired.
I was deeply impressed by my experience with the coach, prompting me to seek out a life coaching course to gain further familiarity with the process. In 2019, I discovered Achology on Udemy and successfully completed the course while juggling part-time work. It was during this time that the idea crystallized in my mind – working as a coach could be the key to realizing my dreams. However, two challenges stood in my way.
Firstly, I possessed only a vague notion of what I truly envisioned for my new life. Secondly, it became abundantly clear that simply watching online courses, no matter how exceptional they were, did not equip me with the practical skills needed to effectively engage with people. There was a distinct feeling of the blind leading the blind.
In 2020, when the COVID pandemic struck, I unfortunately found myself without a job. However, it was during this challenging time that I discovered the Achology community. Eager to make the most of the situation, I immersed myself in practicing and embarked on their CPD learning journey. Embracing this process turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in decades.
What changes has the CPD journey brought me? Here are the 6 most important ones.
Applied Knowledge: I’ve immersed myself in Achology courses and read countless recommended books. My mind is bursting with knowledge! But what sets Achology apart is its CPD journey. It’s not just about theories and abstract ideas – it’s about using them as practical tools, life skills, and real outcomes. Every step we take in Achology is fueled by the spirit of growth, creating a safe space for enjoyable skill development.
Confidence: Acquiring the skills to put my knowledge into practice has instilled a newfound confidence in myself. While I may not be flawless, I have come to realize my own capabilities. The sense of uncertainty and insecurity is now a thing of the past.
Experience: Discovering trust in my abilities and practicing in a supportive environment fueled my determination to step beyond my comfort zone. Soon enough, I took the initiative to host my own events. There are myriad ways to contribute to the community, and I transitioned from organizing events with a structured outline (VALTS) to curating my own and eventually leading mentorship groups. These experiences have not only grown my skill set but also bolstered my self-assurance.
Courage: The opportunities mentioned above empowered me to venture into the real world, instilling the confidence needed to establish my own business and seek paying clients without hesitation. Reflecting on those moments, I am still amazed by the audacity I possessed. Was there nervousness when conversing with my first client? Absolutely! Did I experience butterflies in my stomach while conducting my inaugural workshop for a global organization? Without a doubt! However, nothing on this planet could have deterred me from pursuing my dreams.
Clarity: Instead of pondering my life and business for the next 30 years, I realized the need for action. The initial phase provided valuable experiences, opening my eyes. Being an Achologist involves more than life coaching; it’s about practicing modern applied psychology. Continuous professional development allows me to evolve and adapt. As I enter the second phase, I anticipate significant changes, guided by Achology. My vision for my personal life and business is crystal clear.
Friendship: Since 2020, I’ve been part of the Achology learning community, connecting with incredible individuals worldwide. We collaborate, coach, and hold each other accountable to high standards and unwavering ethics. Engaging in enriching conversations, we’ve formed lasting friendships beyond the digital realm. The support I receive is remarkable, as I’m never alone in building my business—an obstacle faced by many solopreneurs. In this community, I’ve found trusted collaborators and partners for my new venture.
What big difference has this all made to me? I know now that going through the process and being a Master Achologist, has given me the tools and knowledge to make a far bigger vision reality. I am in the process of building two communities. One online and one locally in my hometown.
This vision has come a long way from my initial and vague idea in 2019 of having just a few one-on-one coaching clients. It now encompasses bringing people together and helping them forge meaningful connections with others. Loneliness and stress, the two primary causes of mental and physical issues, drive my mission to introduce “The Village Community” into the lives of those who feel isolated. This vision represents the clarity I have gained, thanks to Achology.
I have achieved this through the application of knowledge, experience and courage that I have gained. With the support of my learning pers, I am confident that I can turn this into a reality. The Achology CPD journey has been transformative, allowing me to bring alignment between my values and virtues, creating a balance between my personal and professional life. Moreover, it has transformed vague ideas into a clear and compelling business vision.
I have never felt such contentment, fulfillment, and inner peace in my life. And this is just the beginning of an exciting adventure. I am eagerly embracing this new chapter with open arms.
